Violet pansies peeking out of snow-in January

Eyes towards the world!

Pansies are peeking out of the snow on the first days of January.
Pansies are among the first plants to make their appearance in spring but I took these photos on the 4th of January.
Look at these little beauties, they are still covered in flowers under the snow!
Pansies can tolerate the light snow we had till now, they seem to be no weaklings in the winter.
Look at these eyes towards the world!

Violet pansies sticking out through the snow

They look so fresh and their colors are more vibrant as in summer. They like the cool, moist weather of this mild winter.
Green leaves of grass are sticking out through the snow as well.

Violet pansies under snow - macro

After a period of long, gray winter days we are all a bit desperate for sunlight and a splash of spring color.

Those pansies are intrepid. The first shot suggests to me a mask with the flowers forming the eyes.

Ah! This is a wonderful post, pansies triumphant over snow! LOL

I wish pansies overwintered here in Ontario. Just a tad bit too cold here, I'm afraid.

The top photo is wonderful! The pansies peeking out look like eyes. I'm trying to figure out the perfect pansy planting time in Denver. If I wait too long, they can't bear the heat.

This is wonderful - especially the close up!
This could be an advertising poster or card - "Perseverance!" (achieving something despite the obstacles - like blossoming flowers in the snow)

Good photos. The first image is a wonderful composition. I think it would be even better with a crop to a square format. Crop out the right portion maybe?

A little touch of color in the stark white snow, how beautiful. After I read Sandy's remark about the first photo I looked at it again. It does remind me of a mask, wonderful shots.
